Choo Choo Here Comes the Easter Sneak Peek Train!

Hi friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing a sneak peek for the new release coming out on Friday, February 17th. I wanted to play with the Easter Train Stamp and Die of the month and I thought that I could use it to show you a little peek at the Easter Basket Emboss and Cut Folder. I am so ready for spring and sunshine and this mini slimline just makes me so happy!

I started my card process today by picking out a color scheme, which I have been doing a lot lately. I flipped through my pattern paper stash and decided that the The World to Me paper pack was the perfect thing for a springy card. I fell in love with this white background that had multicolored speckles that I thought looked like those little egg candies that come out around Easter. I used the colors of the speckles to help me pick my marker colors and stamped the front of the train and two of the train cars with the Asphalt Ink. I let my images dry for a few minutes while I used the new folder to emboss and cut two large eggs. I am so in love with the emboss and cut folders because they are able to give so much texture and shape in one pass through your machine. This folder has three different eggs and an easter basket but I really wanted to play with the polka dot and flower eggs first.

I used Copic Markers to color in the train images and the patterns on the eggs. It was so much fun to use these really vibrant colors and I love the white space left on the eggs because it really helps them to pop from the background. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the stamped images and then got to work on creating a fun card base. I knew that a mini slimline size would fit the train so well so I trimmed my speckle pattern paper down to 6 in x 3.5 in. I added a layer of the lime green and white dot paper from the same pack that I trimmed down to 5 in x 2.5 in because I wanted to make sure that the speckle paper was still very visible. I stamped the Happy Spring sentiment directly onto the green panel with the Dress Shop Ink and I love how it pops and also ties in the pink from the train at the same time.

I knew I wanted to help push the idea that the eggs are inside the train cars so I popped up all three train pieces with the foam tape and then adhered the eggs down flat so they would look tucked in. I added my completed card front to a mini slim line card base and I can’t wait to send this card to one of my nieces for Easter! I can’t wait to see what you all make with this new emboss and cut folder and I will be using it soon in one of my live videos that are happening on Thursdays 8:30 pm eastern on YouTube and Facebook!
