Celebrating, gnome style

Hello Pink and Main friends! It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper. I wonder how you’ve been celebrating the end of the year and the start of the New Year? A little gnome line dancing, perhaps? I’m a big one for celebrating on December 31, but not so great at staying up until midnight!! I’m happy to wind it up with the kids’ sparklers at 10!! I do love the first few weeks of the year, when everything feels fresh, and I’m all keen to do all the things.

Today’s card uses two image stamps and two embossing folders. Read on!

The background for this card was made using the two embossing folders that you see on the edges of all the photos. They are called Basket and Snow Day. I cut a panel of white card that was ‘card sized’ into two pieces, and ran each half through my die cutting machine with a different folder. I then put a small piece of silver shimmer card behind the Basket embossed card, to act as a little path for the gnomes to stand on, and also to break up the two different embossing patterns. The top panel is stuck down flat to the card base, and the ‘road’ of the bottom panel is popped up with foam tape.

The gnomes are a small image from the Cuckoo Clock Stamp set. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured them with my Copic markers. I used a rainbow of colours and coloured four each of the two different images, I then lined them up and stuck them down with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in white onto the same silver shimmer card. It comes from the same Cuckoo Clock Stamp set as the gnomes.

I’m excited for 2023 and all it will hold.

Until next time, may your days be full of rainbows.

Blessings,

Donna
