Bouquet card – Framing an Image

Hello crafty friends. It’s Donna here, and we’re getting very excited about Spring here in Japan. Everything is decorated with cherry blossoms, even the beer!

I have a card today that features the Sweet Bouquets stamp set. This stamp set includes two beautiful bouquets, and I’ve featured one of them here today.

I stamped the image in Copic friendly ink, and coloured it with my Copics. I used greyed out shades of primary colours for this card. I wanted to have a golden yellow in the image, as I knew I wanted to add gold accents to the card.

The bow was cut and coloured separately. I used the matching dies to cut each of the elements out, including the sentiment. The matching dies for this set contain two fabulous little fishtail banners that match the sentiments in the set perfectly. I have trimmed one end of the banner to sit it on the edge of the panel, but the original die is double ended. The gold accents that I added were a border around the panel, which is not centred on the card, in order for the bouquet to hand off in a way that is pleasing to the (my) eye. I also hand cut a fishtail banner just a little larger than the die cute white panel so that it would coordinate with the larger border. Finally, a few gold glossy dots finished off the card.

This type of card, with all its white space is my favourite type of card to make. I find this type of design very restful. I hope you’ve been inspired to break out the craft supplies, and get creative.

Until next time, may your days be full of flowers.

Blessings

Donna
