Bold Colors On A Fall Card

Hi crafty friends, It’s Joy here and I hope you’re having a fantastic day! I see inspiration for cards everywhere, sometimes it’s fabric, or paintings and especially nature. I think color combinations from nature are so spectacular. My card today was inspired by a fall picture with beautiful orange leaves and teal water. It just caught my eye and I loved how the colors where so rich and vibrant. So, I needed to make a card with those beautiful colors. I hope you enjoy it.

The background needed to be bold, so I did some ink blending using inks from SSS. I used Surf, Ocean and Royal to create a beautiful turquoise background. After I ink blended it, I used the Roundabout 6×6 embossing folder to give the card panel some fun interest.

I die cut leaves from the Leafy Dies 2 with two colors of orange cardstock. One is bright and the other is rich. I also die cut the leaves from Gold Mirror and adhered that behind each leaf die. I offset it a little to give a gold mirror shadow behind the orange leaves.

I trimmed down the card panel slightly smaller than an A2 size. I adhered the leaves on the background, letting them overlap each other.

I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Harvest stamp set with Ocean ink and then used the coordinating die to cut it out. I used foam tape behind it for dimension and then added a few gold sequins. I attached the panel to a white A2 card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project, have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Joy Baldwin
