Bold & Beautiful

Hey Friends! Katie here today! Wow, this week is going fast, I can’t believe it is Wednesday already! Works is crazy busy lately, maybe that is why time is flying. But… you don’t care about work, you are here for crafty goodness right!? Well here you go…..

Isn’t it bold & beautiful!? I love peonies. We had them in our yard growing up and they were just this color, I loved to pick them and have them in vases, but you have to shake them out first, because they usually have ant crawling around. Word to the wise.

This card took me a bit to make, I just couldn’t decide on the papers/colors. Ultimately, I went kinda wild on the colors, but I like how it turned out and hope you do to.

Here is how I made this: I started by stamping the image from the Pretty Peony Stamp Set on watercolor paper with versafine ink. Then I used my zigs to color it, a combo of pinks and oranges for the bloom and greens for the stem/leaves. When it was dry, I used the coordinating Pretty Peony Die Set to cut out my image. When this was complete I set it aside. I used the Sunburst Cover Die in Purple cardstock. I repeated in two greens, pink and orange and pulled all the parts out. I mounted a piece of patterned paper from the All Occasion Florals on the base, then put the Sunburst in purple on top of it. Next, I used the portions of the other colored cardstock and filled in a few chosen portion of the puzzle. Next, I added the Peony in and mounted it with foam tape. I stamped and cut the sentiment from the Cherry Blossom Stamp & Coordinating Die Set and popped it on here. Lastly, I added a few of these dew drop looking embellishments with glue dots.

Despite being outside my comfort zone in terms of style, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it too.
