Big Hugs From Small Friends

Hi friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and this week I am sharing a fun spring card perfect for pretty much any occasion. I wanted to take a second shot at the Floating By stamp set and this time, I wanted to play with a pastel, spring time theme. This card could be for Easter but it could also be encouragement, friendship and just because. I started out with my color scheme first, pulling out the Year Round Plaid Paper Pack first and picking one of the spring plaids. I liked this one because the balance of color and white space felt really light to me and I thought that would pair well with the floating images. I trimmed down my paper to fit a side folding A2 sized card base and adhered it into place.

I wanted to create another panel layer for the stamped images to live on and didn’t want to use my usual solid white since there was so much white in the plaid. I decided to dry emboss a piece of Pebble Card Stock that I trimmed down to be 3.5 in x 4.75 in with the Basket Embossing Folder. I love the texture that this folder gives and how it nods to easter depending on what images you pair with it. I really wanted to pop up my floating images so I decided to glue my embossed panel down flat with Ez Squeeze Liquid Glue. Then I stamped the ballon bunch, the single balloon (twice) and the little bunny and mouse images with the Asphalt dye ink and let it dry for a few minutes before coloring them in with Copic Markers. I tried to match up my balloon colors to the colors in the plaid the best that I could. I used the coorindating dies to cut the images out.

I stamped the Big Hugs sentiment to the teak balloon and then added some of the new Foam Tape to the back of balloon cluster and the critters. I glued the two loose balloons down flat with liquid glue and then added the other images on top to create a diagonal from the upper left corner to the bottom right corner with fun dimension. For a little pop of shine I decided to bring in some of the colorful pearls in the Essential Pearls wheel. I added 3 pearls in different sizes to the opposite corners from where the balloons are to balance out the weight of the images and I think they just bring a really nice delicate feel to the whole project. I am so in love with how sweet this card turned out (keep scrolling for a fun bonus)

I also wanted to share a shameless plug with you. Last week I had my first card making live stream and I wanted to share it here in case you missed it. I will be live on the Pink and Main Facebook page and YouTube Channel every Thursday night this month from 8:30-9ish EST and I really hope you can come hang out with me! This is the card I made last week and I have some really fun stuff planned for the rest of the month!
