All that sparkles is probably – embossing powder!

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, from donnaisplayingpaper. It’s release day!!!! You can see the whole new release here. I’m excited to share with you a card that features some of the lovely new embossing powders in December’s release, as well as a new stamp! This will be my last Christmas card this season, as I need to get them all sent!

The main image for this card is – yes- a marshmallow on a sleigh!!! (Obviously!!) It comes from the Hello Winter stamp set, which has a bunch of sweet marshmallow and s’more images. I stamped this one with Memento ink, and coloured it with my Copic markers. I used the matching Hello Winter dies to cut the image out, and put it to the side while I made the background.

To make the background circle, I first created a piece of embossed paper. I used a piece of white card, and stamped the whole card with clear embossing ink, scraping the ink pad across the paper as well as pressing it on. I then sprinkled three colours of embossing powder from the new December release onto the paper – one at a time, shaking off the excess The colours I used were Denim, Chameleon and Wintergreen. I ended up with a three coloured piece of card. I then cut this into roughly half inch strips.

Using removable adhesive, I laid the strips onto some scrap paper in a slightly wonky pattern, then, using the Layered Circle Dies I cut a circle. I added some press’n’seal to the front of the circle before removing the backing paper. I then added some foam tape to the back of each strip, and then peeled off all the backing paper and flipped the whole thing over to attach it to a card base, keeping the circle shape intact.

The sentiment for this card comes from the same Hello Winter stamp set, but that’s probably obvious from the sentiment!!! I stamped this in black onto some white card, and added it to one of the embossed strips.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed this card, and that the extra photos are useful. I forgot to take one of the original embossed panel unfortunately. Still I hope that the process makes sense, because it’s such a great background for lots of different images.

Until next time, may your days be full of sparkle,

Blessings,

Donna
