Adding Details to a CAS card

Good morning and happy Friday! Laurie with you today to share a clean and simple card. I love CAS cards but sometimes I have a hard time with white, bare space. I’ll show you an easy way to add simple details to spice things up a bit!

I used the new Meerkats Stamp Set along with the Special Gift Stamp Set for my main images. The Special Gift set is actually a background stamp but I only used a few of the presents. After colouring everything, I used my scissors to fussy cut.

To make it a bit more fun, I made a slit under the meerkats paw so I could slide a gift bag underneath. It worked out so well!

I used the Mask It Oval Stencil along with a light purple ink and the Ergonomic Blending Brush to add a splash of colour to the front of the card. NOTE: the cardstock I use for card bases is not very “ink blending friendly” so I got a very weird, very patchy blend. But I went with it.

After playing around with my images and deciding where they were going to go, I thought things looked a bit too plain.

I used to add drawn lines quite often but haven’t done it in awhile. This is such a quick and easy way to frame your images or just add fun details! I don’t put any thought into it being perfect…just go for it!

After the lines were drawn around the perimeter of the card, I doodled around the oval as well. I foam mounted the meerkat and stack of presents and used liquid glue on the little goodie bag beside him.

I added the sentiment (also from the Meerkats set) and some glitter pen and Crystal Glaze details.

And that’s the finished card! Thank you so much for dropping by! Wishing you a great weekend!

Some of the products used in this card are not available quite yet! Due to the issues going on in the world, production and shipping has been delayed. Please hang in there 🙂
