A Turtley Amazing Card

Hey, there! I just love the little turtles in the Pink & Main Turtley Amazing stamp set. They’re so adorable! I decided to really let them shine and create a simple stenciled background for them to swim around on.

I stamped out some of the turtles in the Turtley Amazing stamp set onto watercolor cardstock and heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder. I wanted to watercolor these images and I find that heat embossing helps me keep my color inside the lines. It’s a little cheat that I always use! Once my turtles were embossed I watercolored them keeping my color scheme the same for each image and I used the coordinating Turtley Amazing dies to cut them out.

I wanted to give my turtles an easy ocean-like background, so I tacked the Mermaid Tail stencil onto my card base and blended some ink over the stencil. I started with a light blue ink at the bottom and curved it upward in a “U” shape and added some yellow ink at the top overlapping the blue to get a green shade in the middle.

I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the Turtley Amazing stamp set with black ink and mounted my turtles onto the card with foam tape. That’s it! I hope you love these cute little turtles as much as I do! See you soon!

Not only are the turtles adorable, and remind me of our snorkeling in Hawaii, but the water is wonderful. Great “different” colors.
