A Spooktacular October to You All!

Hi friends! This is Caitlin and I am celebrating that it’s finally October with a fun Halloween card! This card came together really easily and would be a good one to make multiple of at once. I started out by ink blending onto white card stock to create a really pretty orange ombre. I used distress inks in Crackling Campfire, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade to blend over a full A2 sized panel so that I could trim it down later.

My favorite part of this whole card was making my own glitter paste to use with the Bubbly Waves Stencil. I scooped out a little dollop of the Glossy Gel onto a paper plate with a pallet knife and poured some Night Sky Super Fine Glitter into it. I stirred it up until it was all incorporated and there were no clumps and then spread an even layer over my panel and the stencil. You want to make sure that you clean all of your tools and the stencil as soon as you are done with soap and water so that the gel doesn’t dry and stick forever. I set that panel to the side to dry and and trimmed down this black and star paper from the Black Tie Party Paper Pack to be a 5.5in x 4.25in backer panel.

I stamped the ballon ghost and little clouds from the Cute Ghosts stamp set with an alcohol friendly ink and used copics to color them in. I used light grey and a very light purple to add some shading to my ghost that would still let him look “white”. I also stamped the sentiment with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Ink and used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. Once the glitter paste was dry, I put the whole card together. I attached the black panel to a side folding card base and trimmed the ink blended panel down to be 4.75in x 3.5in and added that to the center. I used foam squares to pop the ghost and ballon up and then used liquid glue to add the clouds and sentiment to the card. I also grabbed a few of the lighter orange gems from the Warm Jellies Gems wheel and added a few for a little extra sparkle in a diagonal line. I am so in love with this card and I hope you have fun making some Halloween or fall cards this month!
