A not so Cinco de Mayo card

Happy Cinco de Mayo, if you celebrate it or just embrace my Mexican culture it makes my heart happy!
My vision and sketch was to make an altar to café, but suddenly it took a different direction. My sketch included a list of supplies, seriously I was so organized, but before I knew it, I was fumbling through dies, glitter paper, stamps etc. and well, it’s slightly different. I mean it sort of looks like an altar, just a bit.

I used a lot of Pink and Main products and the list with links can be found below. I wanted black bold outline images with bright colors that are found in Mexican Folk Art. I prepped the card stock with the Magic Anti-Static brush, stamped the images using embossing ink. I used Licorice embossing powder for the coffee image and Sour Lemon for the sun image.

I colored the image and background with alcohol markers, leaving a rough streaks of purple on the background. I wanted a basket background with an open weave, so I used the Plaid 3 die to cut white card stock and then used a brown marker to color it. Took the next size up of the Arch die and cut it on black card stock.
Now for the fun part, glitter paper! I reached for Summer pack, die cut the Sunburst 5 times, one for each color. I don’t waste paper, so I used a failed coloring white card stock to paper piece all the bits onto the Sunburst frame.

Holographic! I used it for a little extra something and I love it!! It was a print from the Holographic pack 2.

I have created sporadically, but I expect that changes soon so I can really get crafty. I hope you enjoyed my card and as promised the list of linked supplies can be found below. Gracias por vistarme, nos vemos pronto.
