A Bugs Life

Happy Tuesday! Katie here back with more fun P&M creations! Today, it is all about a bugs life.

For today’s cards (yes, that is plural), I wanted to play with Kraft Cardstock, some cute images, fun dies and DP and colored pencils. I always, and I mean ALWAYS, use Copics, so it was fun to mix it up with my prismacolors.

Both cards feature the Daisy Bugs Stamp Set, Cloudy Frames Die Set, and Designer Paper from the Pastel Dreams 6X6 paper pad. The second card also features a small die from the Beautiful Slim Line Die Set.

Here is my first card:

I started by stamping the the images directly on Kraft with black ink. Next I used my pencils of varying shades to color. I used a pencil blender to blend them. I added a little white around the outside to make the images pop. Next, I die cut my DP with the Cloudy Frame die. I used foam tape to mount it on the card. Then I came back in and added some highlights with my white gel pen.

For my second card, I went the opposite direction. I used the inside of the Cloudy Frame as my backdrop on the Kraft. I added a pink strip along the bottom with the sentiment and the corner in the upper left cut from the slim line die set (that one is popped out using foam tape). Next, I cut small Kraft versions of the Cloudy Frames and mounted them on the DP. After that, I stamped and colored more of my images from Daisy Bugs, I cut them out and mounted them with foam tape. Again, I added highlights with my gel pen.
