Hi Friends! I can’t believe that we are in our first Sneak Peek Week of 2023!!! I am so excited to share this super fun peek at the I Chews You stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew it was time for me to play with the scratch off stickers again and this is such an amazing way to create an easy interactive card. I wanted the focus of my card to be one of the lovely large images from the stamp set so I grabbed the little girl blowing a bubble and stamped her with the Asphalt Premium Ink onto paper made for alcohol ink coloring. I also stamped one of the smaller sentiments inside the bubble for a special surprise later on. Because these ink pads are so juicy, I like to stamp my images and let them dry for a couple minutes before I color. This was perfect timing for me because I needed to pick out my papers and settle on a color scheme.
I was immediately drawn to the All Occasion Florals 6×6 Paper Pad and the happy, bright colors. I have to tell you, I am very much over winter already and I am in serious need of some sunshine! I really wanted to use the bight pink with white flowers but I also knew I wanted a more simple pattern to layer with to not clash with the stamped image. I decided to go with the white and neon green stripes which plays with the green in the leaves of the pink patten paper. To alleviate any feelings of busyness, I also grabbed some white card stock to mat with as well and break up the patterns. I trimmed the pink panel down to fit a standard A2 sized card at 5.5 in x 4.25 in and added it to a side folding card base. Then I used the second and third largest Scalloped Oval Dies to cut out the white and white/green paper. I added those to the card base as well in the center and then it was time to focus on the featured image.
I colored my image in with Copic markers, picking colors that would match my pattern paper as closely as possible. I used the coordinating die set to cut out the image and I added it flat to the other paper layers to make sure the scratch off area would be sturdy. I borrowed a sentiment from the Sunny Greetings Stamp Set and stamped it directly onto the striped pattern paper with the Asphalt ink. The last step was to add one of the Glitter Scratch Off Sticker over the bubble gum which is as simple as peeling and sticking it into place. The picture below shows the result when you scratch off the glitter to reveal the special sentiment.
