Hello and happy Wednesday friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am so in love with the May Stamp and Die of the Month. This pair of cards came together so easily because the images are just so cute! This stamp set is called Ribbit and as soon as I saw it, I immediately knew I wanted to color these sweet frogs.
I started out by stamping a single frog, the froggy couple, the log and the dragon flies with alcohol friendly ink. I used Copic markers to color in the images and I added in extra dot texture anywhere that the artist had drawn little dots to play up that whimsical look. I used the coordinating dies to cut out all of the images and then it was time to figure out how to make them little scenes to live in. I grabbed white heavy weight card stock and used the Mask-It Rectangle Stencil to ink blend framed rectangles with Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I made sure the edges had the most ink and the center was lighter so that there would be some interest from it even though it was very simple.
I trimmed down both ink blended panels to 3.25 in x 4.5 in so that there was a nice white boarder all the way around. I grabbed two pieces of pattern paper from the Happy Paper Pack, one that was green watercolor and one that was blue woven and trimmed both down to 5.25 in x 4 in. I grabbed two white side folding card base and attached the pattern paper panels down first using the EZ Squeeze Glue Tube. Then I glued down the inked panels and stamped the sentiments on them using the die cuts to make sure my placement was right. The last step was to glue the images into place and I wanted some of the images to hang over the ink blended line to play with all of the levels that were created. I love how these cards came out and I think this stamp and die of the month set is a 10/10.
