Sweater Weather

Hey everyone. It’s Dana here with you today. I’m sharing a few new products for you. I made a card using the new Sweater Weather 6×6 paper pad and the Quilt Square 2 Die. So let’s get started.

For today’s card I die cut Quilted Square 2 Die from the Sweater Weather paper pad and used the inside pieces to create this card. I set these pieces aside as I worked on a background. I cut a piece of white card stock and sponged on some distress oxide inks in yellow and orange. Next I placed the die over this piece and inserted the cut out pieces back into place to create the leaf on my oxide panel. I arounded the corners and added a few embellishments to include some enamel dots and a triple bow made of baker’s twine. To bring some white to this layer I used my white gelly roll pen to put some faux stitching around the edge.

I set this aside and stamped out a sentiment in black ink from the Fall Sentiments stamp set. I fussy cut around the sentiment and then added some highlights using a white gelly roll pen. For the background piece I ran a brown piece of card stock with a herringbone design embossing folder through my Gemini Jr. This gave the card great texture.

Now it was time to assemble the card. I started by adhering the herringbone piece onto a white card base. Next I glued the leave onto this piece off setting it to the left of the panel. Finally I popped up the sentiment with a glue dot to both pieces and my card was complete. Share with us how you would use this die. Make sure to link it to the Pink and Main gallery on Facebook. I’ll share what I did with the left over panel in another post later. Have a great day everyone.
