Tickled Pink Sneak Peek

Hello again!

It’s Donna here, and I’m really excited to be playing with the new release, but a little nostalgic for the autumn release already. I’m not nearly done with the lovely pumpkin spice and sweet critter goodness. Oh for more hours in the day!

I have a sneak of just one of the fabulous stamp sets from the new release. It’s called “Deck the Palms” and you’re going to love it. As someone who has always lived in a hot climate at Christmas time ( We often swim on Christmas Day) this set will be great!

I’ve paired this very Christmassy flamingo with some great papers from the Beach Babe paper pad to make a clean and simple card that would be quite easy to make in multiples for Christmas. The only thing that took a little time was fussy cutting the waves, but with Pink and Main’s Wave Border Dies and a different choice of paper, even this could be sped up.

I coloured the flamingo with copic markers, and cut it out with the matching die. (Oh matching dies, how I love you!) Usually I colour my images and then scramble around for matching papers, but this time I worked smart. I used a piece of the Beach Babe paper with a multicoloured stripe to choose my copic colours from. Boy, did that make it easier! At that stage, I hadn’t decided on exactly which paper to use in my die cut window, so by matching all the colours, I kept my options open.

The windows in the card were cut using the Stitched rectangles die. I cut the inner rectangle to the right of the centre so that I’d have room for the flamingo without it falling off the left hand side of the card.

I can’t wait to use the other images in this set. There are so many fun summery Christmas images that I’m sure my Australian friends and family will love.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Blessings,

Donna
