Celebrate With A Carousel

Hey everyone. It’s Dana here with you today. I’m sharing a super sweet card using the Sweet Carousel stamp set and matching dies. I have fallen in love with this set and it’s precious images. This remembers me of times at the state fair with my kids. Such sweet memories.

I started first by matching some Copic markers to the colors of my paper from the Spring Flings 6×6 paper pad. Any time I color, I do this so I know all my colors will match when I get to the end of my card. Next I stamped out the unicorn and banner on some Copic Xpress-it paper and began coloring. This was so relaxing to do. Once I had everything colored I grabbed the matching die cuts and cut out each image. I set these images aside to start working on my background.

For the background I pulled out my Thin Fishtail dies and I cut one piece of white card stock and another thin fishtail from the Spring Flings paper. I blended on some distress oxide inks on the white piece using colors that matched the designer paper. For some added sparkle I spritzed on some shimmer spray. Picking a background card stock was easy since I already knew the colors I used in my piece, so I picked a nice shade of pink, die cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies Set 1 and added some sparkle to that layer as well.

Now it was time to build the card. I scored a white card base and layered on the pink piece. I popped up the next piece which was the polka dots onto some foam tape. I layered on the oxide ink piece and popped up the unicorn. I glued down the banner to the top so it didn’t compete with the height of the unicorn. I then stamped out a sentiment on a strip of white card stock, fish tailed the ends and popped it up right under the unicorn with foam dots. I pulled out some heart glossy dots (wink, wink, sneak peek here) to the corners of my fish tails and my pink piece.

That wraps up my card for today. I hope you enjoyed your visit today and we will see you back here soon.
