You Brighten my Day

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a sunny card to share with you today., that uses the Sunny Greetings stamp set. These flowers are so cheerful, as are all the sentiments.

I stamped the flowers in alcohol friendly ink and coloured them with my Copic markers. I then cut them out using the matching dies.

The background was made using a buttery yellow ink and the Mandala stencil. I blended using the Ergonomic blending brush ( of course!) starting with heavier ink at the centre and using a lighter hand as I moved towards the outside of the panel. I almost never make square cards, but I really wanted to highlight this lovely stencil. I used a green panel behind the stenciled card, to frame the card and bring out the green that I used in the flowers.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white onto black card, and I just cut this with my paper trimmer, adding a (jaunty?) angle to the end. I popped the sentiment and the flowers up with foam tape. The finishing touch was a few Enchanted Garden enamel shapes.

This image is great for beginner colourists, as the smaller petals mean that you can practice your blending over and over, without it showing as much as it would in larger shapes.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this splash of yellow. I hope that you are staying well, and that you have a chance to get crafty!

Blessings,

Donna
