Hey friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and for my first design team project I really wanted to create a fun and easy any time card using the Winter Wonderland 6×6 Paper Pad. I don’t know about you all, but after the holiday season, my brain could use a break from winter specific cards. The colors in this pad are definitely great for the winter but there are many patterns here that work for all occasions and I love options like these!
I started out by stamping out three of the more rounded butterflies from the Butterfly Sketches Stamp Set, grabbing a small, medium and large option to create a size gradient. I grabbed a piece of the chevron pattern and used it to shade match my Copic Markers to create teal (BG49, BG23,BG15, BG11), Pink (RV19, R85, R83, R81) and Purple (BV08, V17, V15) color blends for my butterflies. I shaded my butterflies with the darker colors toward the center and the lighter shades on the outside of the wings. I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the bodies of the butterflies, mimicking the curves of the artist drawn lines as well as adding in dots to some of the darker areas/spots.
Next it was time to die cut out the butterflies with the Coordinating Die Set and trim down the paper panels. I trimmed the chevron paper down to 5.5 in x 4.25 in and the teal paper to 5.5 in x 3.25 in so that the chevrons would peek out a half inch on either side of the teal panel. I lined the butterflies up with a gap between the largest and middle ones so that I could check the placement of the sentiment. I stamped the “ You are doing great things” sentiment directly onto the teal paper and then it was time to adhere the panels together and add the butterflies. I added the whole thing to a white side fold A2 sized card base and then decided that we needed a little bling. I grabbed the White Glitter Enamel Dots and added a small one to either side of the sentiment for a hint of sparkle. I am so in love with how this card came out and it was super easy to put together. There is also a video showing the whole process here.
Thank you so much for taking some time to hang out with me today and make sure you check out Pink and Main’s Instagram for even more inspiration!
