Hello Friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am so excited to share out this fun friendship/love card. I think a card like this one is amazing to have in your stash because it could cover such a wide range of situations. In my head, when I was planning out this card, I envisioned it being for my best friend should she have some life issue come up and I wanted to tell her that I have her back… but now that its done, it could easily be for a spouse, a sibling, anyone you love going through a tough time.
I started out by taking images from Take the Cake and One Smart Cookie Stamp sets and stamped them out in an alcohol friendly ink. I chose images that showed the pairs hugging, but not kissing so that this could easily be best friends/siblings and not so much “romantic”. I colored them in with Copic markers and then used the coordination dies to cut them each out. I went in with a white gel pen and added highlights and little freckles to each little character. I wanted to create a more neutral backdrop since there were so many colors going on so I grabbed one of the pattern papers from the Happy Paper Pad with a tone on tone pattern and cut that down to be a standard A2 sized card size.
I was worried that the dots would be too distracting being directly against the stamped images so I decided to create a second, simple inner panel which measures 4.5 in x 3.25 in. I embossed the smaller white card stock panel with the Wide Stripes Embossing Folder and then flipped it over so that the thinner lines were the ones pushing up and adhered it down to the pattern paper. I used a sentiment from the Just Because Stamp set and stamped it in two parts with grey ink onto a couple of those thin lines. I glued all of the images down to the panel with the EZ Squeeze Glue, placing them so that they kind of stood up on the lines like little platforms. I hope this helps inspire you to use your stamps in a different way and I hope you have a great day!
