Tone on tone card for a Paw-some friend

Hello crafty friends. It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper, and I have a card that is perfect for the cat or dog lover! It has sent me down a rabbit hole of internet searches of the differences between cat and dog paw prints, and my verdict is that this could be used for either! A dog’s print might have longer toes, depending on the breed ( yes, the rabbit hole was deep), but I’m calling it that this print is multi-petual.

The background looks like it was stamped in blue ink, but in fact I used Pink and Main’s clear watermark and embossing ink for this technique. This clever ink works on coloured paper to deepen the colour, so you always have just the right shade. I used the small paw print stamp from the Ruff Day stamp set, which is absolutely adorable little set with a very tall dog!

Next I die cut the big paw from the Paw Prints Dies from a textured creme card stock. I cut the little hearts from the same card, and coloured them with a light brown Copic marker for another tone on tone element to this card. The sentiment comes from the same Ruff Day stamp set as the background paw prints. The paw pieces are popped up with foam tape.

This was a fun card to make, and I hope it’s put a smile on your face. Until next time, take care.

Blessings,

Donna
