Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, bringing you the latest (cards) from Japan! I absolutely adore muted teal colours, and I have a card today that I find so restful because it really is in the exact shades that I love so much.
To make this card, I first stamped and coloured the gorgeous cacti from the Terrariums stamp set with Copic markers. I then cut this out with the matching die. I love how neatly the die cuts the little branch that is sticking up out of the terrarium. I think I could have cut the straight edges with scissors just fine, but I always come unstuck at small details and sharp turns of the scissors.
I created the background directly onto the card using the Ergonomic Blending Brush, Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, and the Four Point Stars stencil. I blended the darkest in the centre of the card, and then faded towards the edges, making sure that my blended area was big enough that it would show around the edges of the terrarium, which is quite large.
The sentiment comes from the same Terrariums stamp set, and I heat embossed it in white onto black card. I would use every single sentiment on this stamp set. I think it’s a really good neutral set for all occasions, both in terms of the image and the sentiments. It’s a real staple in my craft drawer.
Finally, I put the card together, using some foam tape to pop up the image, and finishing off with a couple of enamel dots from the Enchanted Garden set. And do you know what? I like it!
I hope that you are staying safe, and are able to do the things that help you to live your best life at home. Until next time,
Blessings,
