Congratulations! It is Taco Tuesday…I’ll drink to that!
Hey there everyone, Katie here today with a super fun, happy card for just about any occasion. Be it birthday, graduation, engagement, new baby, whatever it is, this card will work and it is HAPPPPPYYY with the bright and celebratory colors.
Tell me this doesn’t have you prepping for Cinco de Mayo!?!?! I mean it has all the elements needed for the perfect fiesta!
Here is how I made this one. First I stamped out the image from Take the Cake Stamp Set. I colored it with Copics (Y15, Y26, Y13, YR16, Y17 G03, YG09, YG97, YG95, YG11, YG03, YG23, E37, E33, E31, E21, R 35, R14, B02, B01, and then I die cut it using the Take the Cake Die Set. Next, I cut a series of paper strips 1 X 4. I cut the stirps so they looked frayed like a pinata up to about the half way point. Then I used my EZ Tear Tape to adhere them to a white base, starting with the orange at the bottom and working my way up.. When I was done, I fluffed the layers so they looked like the tissue on a Pinata. I mounted that on a white card base. Next, I used a bit of white cardstock to die cut a Zig Zag Circle. Then I used the Oh Happy Day Stamp Set for the confetti and colored with the same Copics. The next step was to stamp the sentiment from the Happy Hour Stamp set. I added some white gel highlights to my image and then mounted it on my circle with foam tape. In turn, I mounted the circle on my pinata layers using more foam tape.
Finito! They are the cutest couple, almost too cute to eat…. almost. BWAHAHA. I love some Mexican food, so I would be hard pressed to not eat them, even if they were this cute. 😉
Here is one last image for you.
This card makes me delighted and I truly enjoyed making it. I look forward to giving it away to just the right friend/family for just the right occasion when the time comes.
