Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, typing this in the middle of a monsoonal Tokyo thunderstorm. I’m very happy to be cosy inside! In contrast to the actual weather, I have a super sunny card for you today.
This card uses the Sunshine Layers Stencil as the main element. This stencil has two sunbeam stencils that sit right beside each other on the one stencil, and when combined, they fill in the whole sunburst. You could use just one or both of the stencils, as I’ve done today.
I wanted a sunset scene. so I chose two different sets of yellow-pink-purple-blue inks. Each of the sets is slightly different so you can see the difference between the different beams. I taped the stencil to some white card, and then I used my Mini Ergonomic blender brush for the blending, starting with yellow, and just rubbing it off on some scrap paper between colours. Once I got out to the purple, I gave the brush a quick wash, moved the stencil, and started again on the second set of rays, starting again with yellow.
This panel was then cut with a die from the Stitched Rectangles 1 dies, which was exactly the same size as the stenciled area. I backed the panel onto a piece of sunny yellow glitter paper from the Spring glitter paper pack.
The sentiment for today’s card comes from a great fun die set called Sunny Hello dies. I cut the background from vellum, and the words in white card. The sequins are the fun Starlight Gems mix. Each gem is like a little sunburst in itself. I chose a range of colours, matching them to the colour of the different areas of the background, and the card was done.
That’s all for today. I hope to see you all again soon with another card. Until then, stay safe.
Blessings,
