Hi! It’s Donna here, and did you notice what I just did? For the first time since I’ve been blogging at Pink and Main, I used US spelling in my blog title. It seemed only right to match the spelling on the sentiment on the card.
It’s tricky to know what to do in these situations, but I decided to just be myself, and that includes Australian (British) spelling. But, in honour of the cutest sentiment out there, I’m making an exception!
I’ve made a spinner card, using one of the fish from the Fintastic stamp set. I stamped the set twice, once normally, and once using a reverse stamping technique to get a reversed image. I coloured both images identically and stuck them together with a piece of twine between them, I coloured the twine with a blue copic marker to match the paper behind.
The front of an A4 card was first stencilled using the Mermaid Tail Stencil. I used a pale blue ink so that the spinner would still be the hero of the card. I stamped and cut around the outside of the fishbowl in the Fintastic stamp set, and then partially cut the inside of the bowl using the inner die. I placed my cutting plates so that the rocks were not sandwiched between them and then I used my scissors to fussy cut the rocks afterwards. I then used that same inner fishbowl die to cut a hole in the stencilled front of the card.
I taped the ends of the twine to the top and bottom of the fishbowl piece (at the back) and then adhered the fishbowl to the front of the card, carefully matching up the holes.
Finally, I cut a piece of the gorgeous blue ombré waves paper from ‘The Shore’ paper pad to fit the inside of the card. This meant that I cut it the same height as the card, but shaved just a whisker off the edge to take the fold in the card into consideration/
This isn’t a card for long messages! The greeting will need to be written on the inside of the front of the card I think, but cute spinning fish makes it worth it!
Until next time,
Blessings,
Adorable!
Have a great day!
