Hello crafty friends, I have a sneak peek for you today from the September release. I created a slimline card using a stencil (Poinsettia) and a stamp set (Winter Birdhouse). I decided to make a big floral background and then added the super cute little birdhouse. I hope you enjoy! Let’s get started.
I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 3 1/4 x 8 1/4, this will be the background. I used the the new stencil, it has a large poinsettia split into 3 parts. I started with the back layer and inked it with red ink, then the second layer, I inked with a darker pink. This gives the flower a two toned look. I added a light green for the center. I took that same poinsettia stencil and stenciled (leaves) using dark green ink. I splattered the background with gold metallic watercolor.
Now for the fun coloring, I stamped the super cute image from the Winter Birdhouse stamp set with Copic Markers. I was going back and forth between coloring the bird blue or red, I think both would be so cute. Obviously, I went with the red bird. I gave him a red and turquoise scarf. I used the coordinating die to cut the image out. I popped it up with foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment under the birdhouse.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek! Have a wonderful day!
