Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing a card using the new Watercolor Gems shimmer powders coming out on Friday. I had so much fun making this card and I hope it brings some sunshine to your day.
I started out by stamping the Sunny Greeting‘s large floral image with Embossing Ink into watercolor paper that I had treated with the Magic Anti Static Brush. I added some of the Sour Lemon Embossing Powder and melted it with a heat gun. Then I added a little scoop of the Sunny, Citrine and Emerald Watercolor Gems powders to a flat acrylic stamping block and added a few drops of water to each. I colored the leaves of the image with the Sunny, the centers with the Citrine and the leaves with the Emerald, adding in a second layer after a few minutes for some extra shading. I let my image dry while I prepped my card base.
I added a panel of Orange and White pattern paper from the All Occasion Florals paper pack to my side folding A2 card base. Then I added a piece of Ice Rink white card stock to the front that I had trimmed down to be 4″ x 5.25″ to the card and stamped one of the sentiments from the same stamp set in Construction Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the watercolored image and added to my card with foam tape. Then I added a few of the enamel dots from the Cloudy Day enamel dots set for a little shine. I cannot wait to play even more with these watercolors and I can’t wait to see what you all make too!
Beautiful ! Do the watercolors dry chalky? Thank you.
