Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, freezing in Australia! Not the image that my country normally has, but we’re frosty here at the moment in southern Australia! I hope my baby plants survive! I have a pair of cards today that feature the same background, but with very different colour schemes. Which one do you prefer?
Let’s start with the background. The die that I used for these cards is probably designed to use vertically, not horizontally, since the name is Making Waves Cover Die. It will be a super fun wave die for a future card, but for today, I’m using it sideways as streamers. I cut the die twice from white cardstock, and used my copics to colour a rainbow on each piece. The brighter rainbow uses mid tone markers ( the last numbers on my copics were pretty much all 5s), and for the pastel card, I coloured using 00 markers, such as R00, which are super light and subtle. Using tiny dots of glue, I adhered these to the background cards, one black, and one white.
I then got on with the fronts. This bright card was made using some of the great new foiling products. The heart comes from the Happy Birthday Foilable kit, and I foiled this using Streaks Rainbow Cheerfoil, which is such a fun cheerful design. The “just for you’ comes from the Valentine’s Foilable Kit, and I foiled this in gold.
The softer card has the March Pup as the feature. I stamped this and coloured it with my Copic markers. I also stamped the Yappy Birthday sentiment from the same stamp set, and mounted that on some green shimmer cardstock to help it stand out against the pale background. I popped up all the elements of the cards with foam tape for dimension, and the cards were done!
Waves to streamers! I love stretching my crafting supplies to get new designs. How about you?
Until next time, may your days be bright.
Blessings,
