Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I’m currently fresh back from a month in Australia. From balmy summer days in Japan to the middle of winter in one day, and then back again to monsoonal rain. Luckily I have lots of fun colouring to do if the weather is wet! Today’s card is a soft floral offering. I’ve also made a video of the making process, should you choose to accept the mission!
I usually start my cards with a piece of white cardstock, but just for something different, this time, I started with yellow! I have used the beautiful Sketched Florals stamp, and stamped it in orange ink (my stamp is now quite orange!) This was going to be covered up later, but I wanted a colour that wouldn’t show through if I didn’t stamp the next layer properly) I then coloured each petal and leaf, as shown on thIs video. https://youtu.be/11sjxQOh5fM. This was a little time consuming, but very therapeutic.
My hands had been all over the page by now, colouring and recolouring, so before I stamped and embossed over the top, I ran the Magic Anti Static Brush generously all over the panel. I then carefully (You have no idea just how carefully!) lined the stamp back up in the same place on my MISTI, and stamped it, this time using Pink and Main Embossing and Watermark ink. I heat embossed this with Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut the panel using the Stitched Rectangles 2, and mounted it onto some burgundy cardstock.
The sentiment comes from the same Sketched Florals stamp, which really has some of the best sympathy sentiments I’ve seen in a long time. This time around, I just chose a simple ‘with sympathy’. I heat embossed this in gold onto some white card, and cut it out using the Large Sentiment Strip dies.
I hope that you have a wonderful week, and I look forward to sharing with you again soon!
Blessings,
Donna
