Peaceful Village Card

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I’ve been making a 3D card to share with you. I have to admit that I don’t make a lot of this type of card, because I’m a little afraid of them, but Michelle, the owner of Pink and Main has put together a really helpful video here, and I watched that and pressed pause as I followed along, and it came together really easily. I don’t know what I was so afraid of!

I used the Holiday Scene dies for this card. This die set contained everything I needed for all the shapes of both the structure and the deer and village. I cut everything out of 110lb cardstock, as it was all going to have to stand up strong.

Once all the pieces were cut out, I used Distress Inks to blend colour onto each piece. I wanted the overall look to be soft and misty, but I gave fairly strong colour to the houses so the card wouldn’t look too washed out.

To create the back and side panels, I again ink blended, but this time I used the cloud stencil to give me interest. I pieced the card surround before adding the village and deer to it, so that I could have a sense of how it would look all together. I used strong glue at the bottom of each piece to hold them on.

The sentiment comes from the Holly Jolly stamp set, which has 17 different Christmas and holiday sentiments with beautiful mixed fonts.

This card will fold down flat to a regular A4 size so that it can be mailed!

I hope that you have enjoyed this peaceful Christmas card, and that I’ve encouraged you to be brave with things that seem scary!

Until next time,

Blessings,

Donna
