Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, coming to you from Australian winter, and I have been shut in all weekend with cold, wet and rainy weather – my favourite!!! Today’s card is all about the monochromatic colour scheme. I’ve seen a few cards lately that feature one colour, and they have my heart, so I thought I’d make one myself! The hero of this card is this adorable little dragon with her pile of books from the Hey Hot Stuff stamp set. How do I know it’s a girl? Because it’s me! This is a birthday card for my husband who has a birthday next week.
To begin with, I stamped my dragon with alcohol friendly ink, then coloured her with my Copic Markers. I then used the matching Hey Hot Stuff dies to cut her out. Yay for not having to cut in and around that wing!
I masked off the outside of the top and sides of a piece of cardstock, and blended some Seedless Preserves Distress Ink onto the panel. I then spattered the panel with water, which I quickly sopped up with paper towel, and then some watered down white gouache, which I then put aside to dry. After what turned out to be a poor choice of masking tape, I ended up cutting out the blended rectangle with my Stitched Rectangles 2 die. No card gets left behind on my desk, folks!
I stamped the sentiment ‘Ours is my favourite story” from the same Hey Hot Stuff stamp set, and popped my dragon up with Pink and Main foam tape, then added just a couple of Freezin Season Glitter Enamel Dots.
That’s all for today’s card. I hope you enjoy her, and I’ll try and keep her a secret for another week or so! Until next time, may your days be happy.
Blessings,
Donna
