Hello, again! It’s Andrea back with you, and I’m super excited to share today’s project, which combines one of the cute kitties from Catitude with the gorgeous flowers from Thinking of You Always.
I love creating scene cards and knew I had to make one with these sets. The trick with one-layer scenes is to stamp the image(s) you want to be in the front first and then, after masking that, stamp the other images. It’s all about working in layers. I started with the floral bunch in the center of my garden. I created a mask for it by stamping the image onto masking paper (post-it notes also work) and cutting it out with my scissors. I was able to use just one mask by moving it before stamping additional images. Once everything was stamped, I removed the masks and colored the panel with Copics.
To create my sky, I masked the kitty and ink-blended with Tumbled Glass distress ink. As the ink is so light and I knew I wanted to fade it near the floral border, I didn’t bother to mask the flowers. After removing the mask, I die-cut the panel with the Stitched Rectangles Set 1 Dies and adhered it to a white card.
Onto a strip of black cardstock, I white heat-embossed a sentiment from Catitude. I used my scissors to “flag” one end of the strip and popped it up with foam tape onto my card. I added some highlights to the kitty with a white gel pen and finished with some clear Nuvo Drops.
Have a wonderful day!
