October-November Happenings

Join Us for Our Boutique Grand Opening Nov. 14-15 and Meet Our Team!

I have exciting news to share! We’re growing again, and you’re invited to experience our new Boutique and Classroom in festive grand opening style Nov. 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’ll even have an official ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Manatee Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.

Come join us at 2050 14th Ave. E, Suite 102 in Palmetto, Florida. The first 50 visitors each day will receive goody bags, and everyone can shop to the max in our expanded store featuring a tropical wall-to-wall mural by local artist Foxxy Fine Art, as well as enjoy free make-and-take projects in our new classroom. You can expect loads of fun, prizes, snacks and more.

And you’re sure to be amazed at our wide display of Pink and Main papercraft products including stamps, dies, foils, stencils, card kits, blender brushes, and embossing folders. Plus, we now carry items like adult coloring books, beads, journals, sticker books, scrapbooking supplies and more!

You can also meet many on our team at the grand opening who specialize in customer service, production, communications and marketing. Earlier this year, we introduced our design team, and I’m happy to share the following about our hardworking associates so you can get to know them better.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & PRODUCTION…

Judy Fletcher – For the last 50 years, I’ve called Bradenton, Florida, my home. I started my career as a floral designer and after 12 years, I went into the demanding medical profession where I worked for 32 years.

Three years ago, I discovered cardmaking and was instantly captivated. I love it and thoroughly enjoy making cards for my friends and family. Now, I’m surrounded by cards for a living having celebrated my one-year anniversary with Pink and Main a few months ago. I look forward to coming to work each day.

Other than cardmaking, my hobbies include hiking, reading, watching K-dramas, and going to botanical gardens and museums.

Gayle Gibbons – I grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and moved to Ellenton the weekend the Sunshine Skyway Bridge was hit in 1980.

I am married with three adult children, nine grandchildren, and five great grands. Safe to say, these are the reasons I began papercrafting, which led to memory keeping, which led to cardmaking, etc.

My “real” job was as a workers’ compensation adjuster for Liberty Mutual, then part-time work at Manatee Memorial Hospital (counting $).

My passion is memory keeping; however, I make more cards now than I memory keep. I love to travel, especially to North Carolina. My parents had a summer home there for 35+ years, and we went every summer. I also love our national parks and the western United States.

I’m fairly new to Pink and Main as an employee but have been a customer for a while. I enjoy the people I work with and the whole process of getting product out to customers.

MaKayla Jewell – I was born in Florida and lived in several states growing up. Currently, I reside in what was once a small town, Parrish, Florida. I’m studying for my state exam in Life and Health Insurance. In the meantime, I work at Pink and Main where I’m part of a team responsible for packing online orders and products that our customers love. What I truly enjoy most about working at Pink and Main is the welcoming environment – it feels more like a family than a workplace.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my partner and our two Great Danes. I love swimming at the springs and soaking up the Florida sun. My motto is: “Everything happens for a reason,” as I believe that everything falls into place in the end.

Lesley Keller – I grew up in New Jersey and went to Ohio to attend Ashland College (now university) for three years. I married and moved to Maine and lived there for 45 years. I became a snowbird in Palmetto, Florida, retiring in 2006. I married my second husband in 2014, and we became year-round residents in 2015. I live alone now, as my husband passed away in 2016. I love to travel and have taken many solo trips. Once a year I vacation with my three sisters.

I’ve been a crafter my whole life – sewing, pottery, knitting, crocheting, quilting, counted cross stitch, and now papercrafting. I mainly make cards but have made journals also. I love working in a papercraft shop part-time here at Pink and Main.

Malia Peltier – I was born in Sarasota, Florida, and grew up just north of there in Bradenton. I now live in Palmetto, Florida, with my daughter. I’ve worked at Pink and Main over two years now. My career plans are to go back to school to become a sign language interpreter this year and I’m opening a small business this month.

I enjoy making floral bouquets and my favorite movies are “The Pursuit of Happyness” and “Hustle.” The motto I live by: “live a life you will remember.”

Denise Perkins – I was born in an Army-Navy hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and spent most of my teenage years in Texarkana, Texas. My father was a U.S. Postal Inspector, so we moved quite a bit between Texas, Florida and Georgia. That’s how I first met my late husband, Steve. His father was a postal inspector, too.

We have two smart, beautiful daughters Michelle and Kristina. You know Michelle – she’s the proud owner of Pink and Main, and I’m happy to work here with her and see her artistic talents shine and her dreams blossom into a growing, successful business. Before Pink and Main, I spent my career in the medical billing and coding field.

In my off-time, I enjoy watching movies. My all-time favorite movie is “Dirty Dancing” starring my all-time fave movie star, the late Patrick Swayze. I do plan to read more as I used to be an avid reader. My daughter Kristina gave me a Kindle to help me do just that. I am also a proud pet mom to miniature Dachshund Maggie May.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS…

Libby Hickson – At the core of any business is customer relations, sales and marketing. Pink and Main’s Sales and Marketing Director Libby Hickson excels at working with our wholesale customers and managing our freelance design team, works tradeshows, teaches classes and so much more. Libby joined the Pink and Main team in the fall of 2024 after 20-plus years in the papercrafting industry.

Libby’s experience in papercrafting is a huge plus for Pink and Main. We’re excited she’s on board and sharing her talents with our designers, fans and the rest of our team. Her enthusiasm and passion for stamping and cardmaking is inspiring and contagious!

A proud mom of two, Libby lives in Marietta, Georgia, and enjoys traveling, cooking and gardening. Watch Libby at “Live with Libby – Let’s Make a Card!”

Karen Sue Barnett – A Georgia native who calls Stone Mountain her hometown, Karen now resides with her hubby Marc, cat Fiona and dog Gigi in Sun City Center, Florida. She’s also my aunt who helps us get recognized far and wide (check out our News & Events page) as our Communications Manager. A few of Karen’s creative lines are even found in the Pink and Main inventory as “KSue” friendship and birthday dies.

Karen is a journalism graduate of the University of Georgia and served five years as an Army journalist before becoming a communications association executive for 35 years.

She enjoys watching movies, listening to Queen/Freddie Mercury, following elite and college gymnastics and figure skating competitions, cruising (on the road and on the seas) and writing poetry.

Now you know a bit about our team, please stop by our grand opening Nov. 14 and 15 to get to know them even better as you experience Pink and Main like you’ve never done before … our new Boutique and Classroom is sure to inspire you.

I hope to meet you at the grand opening or anytime … in our awesome Boutique or online at www.pinkandmain.com.

As always, thank you, Pink and Main fans. We appreciate you and encourage you to keep on creating and following your dreams! If you have any questions or feedback, we’re happy to hear from you at info@pinkandmain.com.
