Hi friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am sharing this really different autumn wreath card today. The Modern Foliage Stamp Set really stood out to me and this was actually the very first card I made with the new release. I knew right away that these shapes were so bold and unique and I wanted to use them to update a traditional wreath layout.
I started out with die cutting first for this project, using the coordinating die set with the Streetlight, Stop Sign and dark orange card stock. I inked the edges of all the leaves with distress inks using Aged Mahogany on the red, Fired Brick on the orange and Carved Pumpkin on the yellow. I also added ground espresso to all three colors to give a little more depth and contrast. The next step was to add the veining to each of the leaves with the stamps and black ink. I also cut out some of the little stems/branches out of the Coffee Shop card stock and added the veining to them too. To get the background panels ready, I cut a dark orange card stock down to be 5.5 in x 4.25 in and some of the Pebble card stock to 5 in x 3.75 in. I added shading to the outer edges of the Pebble panel with the ground espresso ink and splattered the same ink in a diagonal-ish line across the panel. I adhered the two panels together and added them to a side folding card base.
I traced the bottom of a mug on the inked panel and laid out all of the die cuts around it. It took a little time to figure out where I liked everything but once it was all in place, I worked my way around the circle gluing each leaf down with EZ Squeeze Glue. I used the rectangle dies in the set to cut out the autumn greetings sentiment on the Pebble card stock and shaded those edges with the Ground Espresso ink too. I added some foam tape to the sentiment strip for dimension and then it was time for sparkle!! I grabbed the Warm Jellies Gems and added a few of the black/dark gems around the wreath and tucked a couple under the sentiment strip. I think this is such a fun spin on a very traditional fall card and it would be great for Thanksgiving or really anytime though the fall. Hope you are feeling inspired to change things up a little bit!
