Hi friends, this is Caitlin and today I am sharing a sweet tag that I made to go with an Ice Cream themed card. We made two fun cards live on Tuesday using the June Stamp of the Month, Favorite Flavor. To see the process for the cards, you can watch the replay here. While we were live, I made a comment about how cute it would be to use the same techniques from our pink splatter card to make a mint chocolate chip background and after I logged out, I knew I had to make it.
I started by ink blending VERY light layers of Salvaged Patina and Old Paper Distress Inks over the Ink Blots Stencil. Then I pressed Ground Espresso Distress Ink and Asphalt Premium Dye Inks onto an acrylic block and a tiny bit of water to it. I used a small, pointy brush to splatter the dark brown ink-water over the paper with the stencil still in place to look like little chocolate bits. I let this dry for a few minutes while I stamped and colored the images. I used the bunny head, ice cream cone, the extra little ripple and the cherry. I stamped them with the Asphalt Ink onto Copic XPress-it paper and colored them with Copic Sketch Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.
I used the Shaker Tag Dies to build the tag itself, cutting the solid tag from Dress Shop Card Stock and the frame tag with the stenciled paper. I glued the frame to the pink layer with liquid glue first and then added the middle of the frame with thin foam squares behind it for some dimension. I added the ice cream images onto of that with more liquid glue and threaded some Dress Shop Twine to hang it with.
