Hello friends. It’s Donna here and I have a card to share today that uses a sweet bee image, as well as three patterned papers, one of which was made using the same stamp set as the main image.
Let’s start from the background today, and work our way forward! I used the tiny bee stamps in the Bee Day stamp set to create a pale yellow pattern on a sheet of white card stock. I cut this just smaller than a standard card. Next, I cut banners from two patterned papers, one from the It’s a Party paper pad, and one from an older Pink and Main paper pad called Beach Babe. I chose papers that had smaller or quieter patterns, so that they didn’t take over from the focal image.
Next, I used one of the Stitched Top Note dies to cut a white background for my bee. I used the exact same die and traced around it with a pencil and cut it out with my scissors to created the slightly bigger piece from the patterned paper.
Finally, the bee is from the Bee Day set. I coloured this in Copics, matching the blue of the cupcake and party hat to the blue in the paper. I cut this out with the matching die, (an absolute hero for saving me cutting those antennae!) and glued it on top.
For a final touch, I stamped and coloured two tiny bees, and added them over where I had stamped a bee on my background paper. This completed the card.
I’ll be back soon with a sneak peek of the the April release, and it’s so much fun!
Until then,
Blessings,
Adorable card! Love the Bee!
Have a great day!

I love how you used the little bees to make a background. I don’t know why, but I totally forget to do that!
