Hello Pink and Main Friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a card for you today that almost didn’t make it!
I first made this card a few months ago, and I was sooo happy with it, until…. the glossy accents on my spaceman’s helmet bubbled! He looked like he was in all sorts of outer space trouble, and I couldn’t bear to look at him, knowing that he almost certainly had a helmet malfunction!
But. I was determined to make this card, so I carefully took off air-bubble-spaceman and recoloured another. This time I was really careful that I didn’t have any air bubbles, and he looks safe and happy!
All the images on this card come from the My universe stamp set, and are coloured with Copics. I cut them out with the matching dies. I then set them aside while I worked on the background.
The background is make by blending a range of blue and purple inks using the cloud stencil, twisting and turning it, and changing the colour of the ink. I overlapped the colours to give a very full background. I then cut this panel out with the stitched rectangles die before mounting it onto a grey card.
I stamped the sentiment onto the same grey card and embossed it white. Finally, I popped the images and sentiment up with foam tape to let my spaceman float happily (and safely) in space.
I’m glad I persevered, because I loved this fluffy background, and I really wanted to share it with you all. So here he is – the spaceman that almost didn’t make it!
Until next time, may your glue be free of air bubbles! This is my last post for 2019, so I wish you all a safe and happy New Year, and I’ll see you all ( metaphorically speaking!) in 2020!
Blessings,
Adorable card!
Have a great day!
