Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, coming to you from Australia, where we’re just starting to see some serious spring weather. I’ve been playing with the new Homespun Christmas card kit, and I have a set of 5 cards, and a video for you today! This kit is not part of the regular Pink and Main kit subscription, so it’s a great chance to try out one of our kits without having to commit to an ongoing subscription. The perfect way to dip your toe into the water!
This kit contains a fun paper pack, a huge 6″ x 8″ stamp set with matching dies, card bases, gold and silver paper, sequins, glitter enamel dots, and a great stencil too. Although I’ve made 5 cards, there are enough supplies in this kit to make so, so many more. Hundreds, if you supply some more card bases!
You can see the whole video here, I’ve managed to keep it down to under 10 minutes for the 5 cards, and have included a quick run through of what’s in the kit at the beginning. I hope that you enjoy the video, and find lots of inspiration there! Here is the link: https://youtu.be/ZRozu3g1yH8
For this first card, I’ve used masking and ink blending to colour everything except the images. The stamp set in the kits has a bunch of Christmas and holiday sentiments that work well with the images, and I’ve used these on all of the cards today.
For this second card, I’ve used partial die cutting to cut the shape of the images at the top, using the dies. You can see the process in more detail on the video.
This third card used the the candy cane image as both the main image, and by stamping it in a very pale colour, also as the background panel. It’s a great way to make a perfectly coordinating paper!
Next, I broke out the stencil for the 4th and 5th cards. I masked off lines of the stencil, and blending different colours of ink on each line to make a colourful panel, before stamping and white heat embossing a sentiment on vellum to wrap around the card,
Last, but not least, I again masked off just the trees on the stencil and blending these in different greens. I used the silver sequins from the pack to be the stars on top of the trees. I decided to stamp my sentiment on the inside of his card, as I liked the clean lines of the card, and didn’t want to busy it up with a sentiment.
Here is a look at all five cards. Each of them could be varied in so many ways, but for now I have one of each. I hope that you are inspired to get making! If you’re interested in having a look at the Homespun Christmas card kit, you can see it here.
Until next time, may your days be crafty!
Blessings,
Donna
