Holly & Jolly Background

I love the Holiday Wreaths stamp set! Not only are there a few different wreaths to stamp and color but there are also a bunch of individual items so that you can build your own wreaths! I decided to take some of those elements and stamp a holly background. I love holly because it’s such a classic Holiday image and it has both of the traditional red and green colors! I put both of the holly leaves from the Holiday Wreaths stamp set on an acrylic block and stamped them all over my card front and added the red berries.

I stamped the focal point wreath image from the Holiday Wreaths stamp set and colored it with Copic markers. I thought it would be a fun touch to add some blue/green leaf accents along with the traditional green leaves. I used the coordinating Holiday Wreaths die set to cut out the wreath. I love that it cuts out the middle of the image, too! When I added the wreath to my card I didn’t think it stood out enough, so I adhered it onto some vellum and used my scissors to trim around the outside shape of the wreath. The vellum toned down the background just enough!

I stamped and heat embossed a black sentiment from the Holly Jolly sentiment stamp set into the middle of my wreath image and added the focal image to my card with Darice Foam Strips. These strips are skinny and perfect for adding images to cards! That’s it! I hope you enjoy this inspiration!
