Hello Sunshine Foiled Cards

Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing another foil background project with you. I love how fun this card set turned out and it was really easy to pull together. Projects like this are really great because you can break them up into chunks, getting your foiling done in one session, copic coloring when you have time and then putting everything together when you are ready. I think this style of card is great too because you can have it in your stash for almost any kind of occasion.

I started out by grabbing the plaid foilable sheet from the Full Bloom Foilable Kit and the ROYGBIV Cheerfoil. I love how colorful and fun this foil is and I think that combining it with the delicate lines of the plaid foilable is an effective way to bring in color without it being overwhelming. I heated up my Mini Minc Foiling Machine and ran the whole foilable sheet through with the foil on top. I did get a little bit of wrinkling and I think the next time I want to use the whole sheet, I will cut it in half first and run each piece through separately.

I stamped out two of the images from the Smile Crocodile Stamp Set and colored them in with my copic markers, trying to mimic the same kind of rainbow tones from the foil. I used the coordinating dies to cut them both out. I love how fun and summery these crocodiles are and they come with very cute sentiments but I wanted to bring in something else to help balance out the foil.

I decided to use the Hello Sunshine Word Dies with a white shadow and black letters to really pop against the background. I love how bold this die set is and I really appreciate the combination of chunky and delicate fonts. After using the EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue to adhere it all together, I started to assemble my cards. I trimmed down a sheet of Pebble Card Stock and used two 5.5 in x 4.25 in panels as my first layer on my side folding A2 card bases. Then I trimmed down the foiled paper to be two panels measuring 5.25 in x 4 in and added them directly to the cards with liquid glue. I also added the sentiments with liquid glue and then popped up the crocs with foam tape for a little extra emphasis on them. I hope these happy cards inspire you to play with layering your cards and trying new combinations.
