Happy Saturday, crafty friends!! Brenda here with a fun birthday card to share today to close out shark week!! I’m always here for a punny sentiment and this sentiment from the Ocean Life Stamp Set was perfect to pair with the shark from the Ocean Animals Die Set!!
I began by die-cutting the elements for the shark from the Ocean Animals and the ocean floor from the Coral Reef die sets from colored cardstock. These small dies are perfect for using your scraps, so that’s exactly what I did. The die-cuts that included mulitple layers were adhered together with liquid glue.
For the background, I die-cut a piece of pattern paper from the Ocean Life Paper Pad using the largest die in the Layered Rectangles A2 Die Set. I used the same die to cut a panel of Ice Rink cardstock and die-cut the ocean floor using two dies from the Coral Reef Die Set. I used Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to add color, then splattered them with diluted Vintage Photo and white ink.
The sentiment, from the Ocean Life Stamp Set, was white heat embossed directly onto the pattern paper. The ocean floor and coral reef die-cuts were adhered to the bottom of the panel with liquid glue. The shark was popped up under the sentiment with foam tape. A trio of Galaxy Sticky Gems create some extra “bubbles” and add a bit of sparkle to finish off the card.
I hope you enjoyed reading how this card came together!! Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
