Happy Thoughts!!

Hello and welcome!! I hope all is well wherever you are in this world. Whenever I feel stressed or anxious, I find I gravitate towards rainbows. Whether it be an actual rainbow image or rainbow colours. They are cheerful, bright and a sign of hope and promise. In my project for you today, I’ve done some simple masking and combined a couple of stamp sets!

When doing some masking, it always helps to create a rough copy of what you have in mind. I used a piece of printer paper and stamped out my scene.

I combined the previous released Bright Side Stamp Set along with the new Seasonal Truck Stamp Set…please note that he Seasonal Truck Set will be available with April’s release. As you can imagine, production of stamps and dies along with shipping issues have been affected during this time!!

You can see that the masking needed is minimal. I created a mask for the back of the truck:

I lined up the box of hearts and stamped that down. I created a mask for the hearts and lined up the rainbow stamp.

The mask prevents the cloud portion from being stamped. When all the masks are removed, this is what you’ll get:

So fun and cute!! I coloured the rainbow and hearts in nice, bright colours but left the truck “white”. I wanted the focus to be on the rainbow and hearts.

I fussy cut the image and set it aside while I worked on the card base. I lightly blended some green ink on the lower portion and a light blue on the upper to create a sky/ground look.

To create more of a “ground” for the truck, I used a sentiment from the Just Because Stamp Set. I actually had this already heat embossed on one of the Sentiment Strip Dies. I added foam tape behind the sentiment as well as the truck and adhered both to the card base.

I added some clouds from the Bright Side stamp set as well and used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out. After everything was adhered, I added some shimmer to the hearts, clouds and some bits and pieces on the truck. I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze on some of the parts of the truck that would by shiny!

The finished card size is 3.75 X 5.5 inches. The image fit perfectly!
