Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears (@LisaMearsDesigns) on the blog and today I’m making a cute birthday card scene with the adorable Pink and Main Spill the Tea stamp set.
I’m going to create a cute outdoor scene for my card and I started by creating my background. I used the Pink and Main Wide Stitched Arches dies to cut two arches from white cardstock. I used the Scrapbook.com Mixed Media Heavyweight White Cardstock since I was going to do some ink blending as this paper is great for ink blending.
Using the second largest arch, I stenciled a cloud background using Ranger Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass ink and the Pink and Main Cloudy Day Stencil. I only stenciled the clouds on the top 3/4 of the arch. I masked off the bottom part of the arch with a piece of Scrapbook.com Mint Tape in order to keep the blue ink from that portion of the arch. When I was done stenciling the clouds, I removed the Mint Tape and repositioned it to mask off the lower portion of the clouds and then I inked the bottom of the arch with Ranger Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn ink to resemble the grass in my scene. I added the inked background to a larger white arch.
I love the large stamp that is from the Pink and Main Spill the Tea stamp set. It’s such a cute scene. I colored the stamp with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens in the following colors:
Tree Stump: Mid Brown, Mustard, Beige, and Blender
Small Leaves and Hill: Cactus Green
Large Leaves: Leaf Green and Blender
Mushroom Top and Strawberry: Wine Red, Red, and Blender
Mushroom Top, Bow, and Teacups: Light Violet and Blender
Mushroom Stem: Beige and Blender
Cake: Peach Pink and Blender
Bear: Natural Beige and Beige
Bunny: Gray, Light Gray, and Sugar Almond Pink
Sky: Shadow (I used this pen to color the white outline around the top of the image after I die cut it. This way, it blends in with the sky background.)
I added the stamp to the arch die cut and then added the arch die cuts to a piece of pattern paper from the Pink and Main Pop Flowers pattern paper pad.
Pink and Main has recently released so many different colors of twine. I used the Stop Sign twine and wrapped it around the top of the card.
For the sentiment, I used one from the Pink and Main Tea Time stamp set. I used the sentiment “Happy Birthday To My Favorite Hot-Tea.” Since birthday cards are the type of cards I make the most of, I thought this birthday sentiment would be great for this card, especially since there is a piece of cake in the scene.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!
