Hello Pink and Main friends! It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper, and I have a bright fun birthday card to share with you today. – with a floating Tiger, of course! What else would you expect?
My colour inspiration for this card comes from the Warm Basics 6 x 6 paper pack, which I also used as a border. I picked up some of the colours and chose matching Copic markers to colour my images. These cuties from the Floating By Stamp Set have matching balloons, and two of the images, the tiger and the unicorn have strings in their hands, so that you don’t need to see a stamp them separately.
I stamped the tiger and the set of three balloons with an alcohol friendly ink , and then coloured them with my Copics. I used the matching Floating By dies to cut out the images. Yay for not having to cut around that balloon string that the tiger is holding!
The cloudy background was made using the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder and some white card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the same Floating By Stamp Set in black ink. I was worried that this wouldn’t stand out against my white, cloudy background, so I added a background layer.
This was the same paper as the background sheet, but I coloured over it with one of my dark orange Copics, so that it read as all orange. If you look closely, you can still see the plaid pattern.
I have some extra layers of scrap paper behind the balloons, the Tiger, and the sentiment to give a little dimension to the card. This card was so much fun to make, and I think a whole series of these will be emerging from my craft room in the very near future. Until next time, may your days be bright
Blessings.
