Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here and I have a floral card for you today. Flowers are my absolute favourite thing to colour, and I’ve done a little experimenting today. I have been back to Australia for Christmas, and I took a few limited supplies with me, so I decided to do a bit of creative stretching.
I stamped one of the bouquet images from the Sweet Bouquets stamp set with a pale ink before I left Japan, and then once I was in Australia and had a little free time, I coloured it using a mix of Copic markers and Pencils. I wanted to see how much variation the pencil would give me if I used only the same colour of copic for all the flowers. so, each of the flowers was coloured in a mid pink before adding highlights, shadows and patterns in pink, blue and grey-brown。Similarly, the leaves are just one shade of mid green Copic with different highlights in blues and greens.
One the colouring was finished, I cut the bouquet and a white heat embossed sentiment using the dies in the same stamp set. The banner die is a great inclusion with the bouquets.
For the background, I used a sheet of watercolour paper. I mixed a few green watercolour paints that I had until I got a similar green to the leaves, and then loosely painted stripes in two layers. Once they were dry, I spattered some water on, and mopped it up with paper towel to leave some splashes and interest.
A card base in a deeper green completed the card. I love having ‘Just Because’ cards in my stash! They are so versatile.
I hope you are inspired to experiment and play with your craft supplies, and get crafty.
Until next time,
Blessings,
Very pretty!
Have a great day
Marilyn ❤️
