Hi there! It’s Jeannie, back again to share another card using the August release, Fall Friends. I love how there’s so many images, so I really wanted to pull them out to use on one card.
When there’s a lot of images to use, I find it tricky to make the entire card cohesive, which is why I really adore the Stitched Top Note Dies. Not only is this shape super unique, it comes in multiple sizes that allows you to use them in a multitude of ways. For this particular card, I decided that I wanted to use one of the smaller dies to stamp the images directly one.
With the images stamped directly on the die cuts, it makes everything super easy to put together. I’ll color the images in similar shades so the card is cohesive. I wanted a pattern for the card base, but I couldn’t pick anything too busy. The yellow polka dots from the Sunrise paper pad was perfect; it wasn’t too busy and was subtle enough not to distract from the stamped images. I trimmed the patterned paper down a bit so the kraft cardstock peeked out on the sides. I really love kraft cardstock for Fall cards. It works so perfectly!
It looked a bit plain with just the pattern background, so I fussy cut a bunch of the small leaves and acorns and scattered them around the card. It added a bit of embellishment but wasn’t too overpowering.
Lastly, I stamped out one of the sentiments in the set and this finished off the card. I loved how it turned out and I can’t wait to see the leaves on the trees change colors (the best part of Fall!).
I’ll see you next week to share another card! Have a great day!
