Hey everyone! Have you seen the August release?! It’s pretty incredible and although we’re in August, Fall is just around the corner and I personally CANNOT wait! It’s my favorite season of the year.
Today, I’m using three items from the release: Fall Friends, the coordinating dies, and the Wreath Base die. The wreath base die has a coordinating set for Halloween but I decided to use it in the most simple way. For the wreath, I used a couple green shades of distress inks to ink it up. I wanted to add a little bit more dimension to the leaves, so I used an alcohol marker to draw in the stems.
I focused on using one image from the Fall Friends set and really loved the one in the pumpkin. Additionally, I used the smaller leaf and acorn images to create a background on Kraft cardstock and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I decided to do a die inlay effect for the wreath so I used the Wreath Base again to cut the cardstock and replaced the wreath with the one I inked up earlier.
For the main image, I focused on the hedgehog in the pumpkin… he’s adorable and seems so incredibly happy! I decided to use the coordinating die to cut this out quickly. Since I used a kraft background, I didn’t want the white outline to clash, so I just used a marker to color in the outline so it softens the entire look.
I love how the gold looks so subtle against the kraft cardstock and the Wreath Base die draws your focus to the middle of the card. I love this release… and I hope you do too!
See you next week when I come back to share another card! Have a great day!
This is so cool!
