Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper. I’ve been out hitting the streets of Tokyo, but there’s no autumn foliage to be found (yet). But rest assured, as soon as there is, I’ll be right onto it! I love the colours of autumn, and the crisp air. Bring it on!! I have a pair of cards for you today that use a soon to be released die set called Leafy Dies 1. There are two leaves in the set, one that cuts the background, and another that cuts the open outline and veins of the leaves. I’ve used both for today’s cards.
I have used Pink and Main papers for the leaves. The background is from a paper pad called Inked Oasis, which has a whole pad full of different inky backgrounds. For this card, I chose one with greens, oranges and a hint of pink. I cut the top layer from Pink and Main Gold foil cardstock and glued them together. From here the two card designs diverged. For the first card, I added a background made using the Micro Dots embossing Folder (It’s coming soon, with the leaf dies!) I cut this panel smaller than the card so that I could tie some twine around the panel before adding the leaves.
For the second card, I made a feature circle on the background panel. I used a stencil called Circle Spotlights 1, and used my palette knife to spread some Pink and Main Glossy Gel mixed with glitter over the holes. I mixed small scoops of gel with Super Fine Glitter in Emerald, Tangerine and Rose Gold on my craft mat, then spread them out in three slightly overlapping stripes. I let this dry completely before moving on.
The sentiments for both cards come from another soon to be released set called Bold Leaves. I cut them out using the coordinating dies. One is stamped in black and the other in an exciting new colour of embossing powder that’s going to be perfect for the Halloween cards!
The lime green paper in the background of this card is called The Park and it’s part of Pink and Main’s paper release from the last couple of months. The final touch on this card were some In the Garden Enamel Dots.
These inked papers that I used for the leaves are so versatile! Here’s another post where I used the same paper pad for a very different look!
Until next time, stay safe, stay cool!
Blessings,
