Good morning my crafty friends!! Donna here, reporting in from Tokyo! I have a sweet card to share with you today that has a fun theme – flying elephants!
This slimline card uses the Plaid Slimline die to make the background. I cut it from a pale blue card that I had it my stash, and glued that down to my card.
Next I stamped the elephant and balloons from My Vote stamp set. I used Copic friendly ink, and cut them out with the coordinating My Vote dies. I’m loving the Mini maker for these repetitive cutting jobs like all the balloons, because I can leave it on my little desk, and cut away!
I used Copics to colour everything, keeping to just pink and grey. I’m trying to use a more limited colour palette at the moment.
Once everything was coloured, I put foam tape behind the elephant and balloons and glued them down, Only one string has foam tape – the one that sits over the elephant’s tail; the rest are glued directly to the card. I cut some of the strings so that the balloons would all sit in a bunch.
The banner is cut using the Sentiment Strip dies, and the sentiment comes from the Going Places stamp set, and I thought it added some humor and whimsy. I think a welcome baby sentiment would work well too. All this from a stamp set called My Vote!
I’m going to leave you with one photo of the whole card. It’s very long and narrow, so I’ve left it to the end. Until next time, may your days bring you pleasant surprises.
Blessings,
