It’s Graduation season around here!
Hi! It’s Donna! Although we live in Japan, we have a close connection with an American school here, so the graduations are happening right now, not in November, like Australia (my homeland), or March, like the the rest of Japan. In fact, I’m watching a live stream of the graduation ceremony as I type this! I have been making graduation cards for friends and students, and this set of three cards is suitable sparkly to mark the occasion. Why three? If you’re doing the cuts to make one card, you’ll have enough pieces for three!
The hero of this card is the Sunburst cover die. This die cuts the border strips, central circle and sun rays all in one. I cut three papers using this die – white cardstock, Holographic Cardstock set 2, and a black starry paper from the newly released Black Tie Party. I then glued the pieces down onto three different cards, playing jigsaws as I went. I mixed and matched the papers.
The Spotlight Sayings stamps are designed to fit into the space on this die, and I chose the Congrats! stamp. ( I masked off the exclamation mark for this card) I first prepped the area with the new Magic Anti Static Brush, then stamped in Watermark and Embossing Ink before heat embossing with Silver Embossing Powder to match the holographic paper. As a finishing touch, I added some Silver Glossy dots to the central circle.
That’s all for today’s card. I’ve been colouring up a storm, and I look forward to sharing some coloured cards with you next. Until then,
May you have all the congratulations you deserve (and then some!)
Blessings,
